The VISX STAR-S4 with Iris Registration Technology is a recent advance in laser vision correction, providing the most accurate precision alignment of the eye.

The Iris Registration (IR) adjusts the laser ablation to compensate for any cyclotorsional movement (rotation of the eye) and /or pupil migration that occurs when
the patient goes from the upright position to the supine position. If there is a cyclotorsional movement outside of acceptable parameters, the VISX laser will automatically pause. The sensitivity and accuracy
is such that each eye is identified individually and the laser will not function for the incorrect eye.
The technology allows for instant re-registration in the event of intra-operative cyclotorsional
movement. In addition, IR precisely centers treatment independent of pupil center migration. IR is an unprecedented breakthrough in precision tracking, ensuring higher quality visual results.
